FAQs
What are period pants, and how do they work
Period pants are reusable underwear designed to absorb menstrual blood, providing leak-proof protection during your period. They are made with multiple layers of fabric that wick away moisture, absorb fluid, and prevent leaks. Depending on your flow, they can hold the equivalent of up to 4 tampons' worth of flow. For an average flow, one pair of pants can last up 12 hours.
How do I care for my period pants?
To keep your period pants in great condition:
- Rinse them in cold water immediately after use until the water runs clear.
- Wash them in a washing machine on a cold cycle with regular detergent, but avoid fabric softeners and bleach, as these can damage the absorbent layers.
- Air dry them instead of using a tumble dryer to maintain their effectiveness.
How long can I wear period pants before needing to change them?
This depends on your flow and the absorbency level of the pants. On light to medium flow days, you may be able to wear them for 8-12 hours. On heavier days, you might need to change them every 4-6 hours. Always carry a spare pair for peace of mind..
What is the pocket for?
All of our designs come with the option of having a pocket. The pocket is on the inside of the pants and is designed to hold our heating pad. The heating pad is reusable and remains hot for 30mins - perfect for those nasty cramps.
Are period pants environmentally friendly?
Yes, period pants are a sustainable alternative to disposable menstrual products like pads and tampons. By using reusable period pants, you reduce waste and lessen the environmental impact associated with single-use period products. They are also designed to last for several years with proper care.
Do period pants feel bulky or uncomfortable?
Not at all! Period pants are designed to feel just like regular underwear. The absorbent layers are thin and discreet, so you can move, sit, and sleep comfortably without feeling bulky. Many women find them even more comfortable than traditional pads.
